Regular Disinfection Keeps Your Home and Workplace Safe & COVID-19 Free
People all over the world have been affected by the rapid spread of COVID-19. In this new, pandemic reality, wetry hard to keep our daily routine as close to normal as possible. And while many of us have started working from home, others still go to work.
Amid rising social insecurity and anxiety, more and more working professionals worry that regular cleaning services may not be enough to keep the virus at bay. We at Dubai Pacific Pest Control & Cleaning Services Co. would like to give you some simple disinfection and sanitization tips that will make your home and office safer and nicer-looking.
Home Cleaning Tips
Distance, disinfection, and discipline are the three most effective anti-COVID strategies. In the comfort of your home, you can skip the first one, but regular disinfection and your discipline to follow these simple rules must remain in place.
Take off your shoes
Now that you are less likely to have people round for dinner because of the pandemic, you can try taking off your shoes as soon as you get home and putting on a pair of comfortable slippers.
The Japanese and the Bulgarians find this pretty standard, while others like the Italians and the Americans may frown at the idea.
The truth is that when we walk in the street, our soles get populated with all sorts of impurities, including COVID-infected saliva or mucus. So, do take off your shoes at the doorstep, please!
How many times should you wash your hands?
You already know that washing your hands is essential. However, some people take it to extremes, really! It is enough to wash your hands as soon as you get home from work or the supermarket.
Then, it’s enough to wash your hands before every meal. If you wear contact lenses, wash your hands before removing or applying them.
If you have a cat or a dog, you should wash your hands after walking or playing with him or her. If you have children, make sure that they follow this simple rule, too.
Washing your hands too often or using too aggressive sanitizers will make your skin dry and irritated. Use some regular antibacterial soap with a neutral pH.
Step Up Cleaning
If you used to clean your home once a week before the COVID-19 pandemic, now you should sanitize the premises at least twice as often. Pay special attention to the bathroom and the toilet bowl. Make sure that the detergent reaches under the rim.
You probably have a brand of disinfectants and home cleaning products that you trust. Do not rely on TV commercials to tell you what detergents you should use. You hadn’t been living in a cave before the pandemic started, had you?
Stick with the stuff you used before; clean the place more often. You can use a steam cleaner, too! It will disinfect your carpets and curtains as well.Bare in mind, chlorine-based detergents are notorious fortheir pungent smell.
Simple Office Disinfection Rules
Your boss has probably stepped disinfection up already, so do not be cross with the cleaning lady going about her business. She’s just trying to save you from COVID-19, among other health hazards that poor workplace hygiene may cause. Here’s what else you can do.
Disinfect Your Desk Every Day
There are critical areas on your desk that you must clean with some alcohol-based spray every day. These include:
• PC or laptop’s screen
• Mouse
• Keyboard
• Any peripheral devices like webcams, microphones, and headphones that are used in conference calls
These areas become even more critical if you are using a shared workstation. Other critical areas are your office chair’s sidebars, as well as the chair itself. You can use a portable steam cleaner to disinfect them at the end of your workday.
Washing your hands at work is even more important
It would be best if you washed your hands with antibacterial soap (bar or liquid) after each bathroom use.
If you have to use network-shared devices like scanners and printers, wash your hands after interacting with them.
Better still, you can disinfect their buttons with appropriate spray or wet wipes before you touch them. It would help if you also washed your hands before and after the lunch break.
Change your shoes at your workplace
It’s a good idea to keep a spare pair of comfortable shoes at your workplace. If all of your colleagues follow your example, the floor will need less disinfection. This measure may seem extraordinary, but we live in exceptional times!
